After a wonderful week in Chicago celebrating Christmas with Andy and his three girls, I’m beyond excited to see Greenlea and Ozzie tomorrow—I’ve missed them so much! They’ve been with their dad and his family, and while I had an amazing time, it’s just not the same without them. We’ll all be together in Chicago for New Year’s, and I’m recreating Christmas this weekend so we can celebrate as a family. My mom is coming from Shana’s, Andy’s mom will be joining us too, and I can’t wait to soak up all the holiday magic with everyone under one roof.
We’re kicking off the new year with a pool party, and I’ve been having so much fun getting everything ready. I made these pretty “ice cubes” for mimosas (or La Croix for the kids) and picked up some edible glitter to give our drinks a little extra sparkle. It’s such a simple way to make things feel festive and special…Here’s to starting the year with good vibes, fun drinks, and quality time with the people we love!
jeans (6), sweater (s), top (xs), boots | jeans (28), sweater (s)
ONE: This whole outfit is on sale, and I’m obsessed with every piece. These leopard print boots have been my go-to all fall—they add the perfect pop to any outfit. The cardigan? Incredibly soft, with gorgeous gold button details and handy front pockets. Underneath, I’m wearing one of my favorite tops (I love the strong shoulders). And the the jeans? Classic Good American—always a win, especially at 30% off!.
TWO: Speaking of incredibly soft, the boiled cashmere sweater from Vince we all love is 25% off right now—and FYI, the aqua color is even prettier in person (I’m also loving the soft navy of tide stone). And these high-rise wide-leg jeans from PAIGE? Also 25% off, and they’ve been a favorite of mine lately! (Also on sale at Saks if your size is sold out!)

Hey, Friday! Happiest of holidays, my friends. This is truly the best time of year. Right now, I’m en route to NW Arkansas to see my family and spend a lovely week with my brothers, SILs, nieces, nephews and parents, and I am giddy with excitement. And I don’t get – ok, maybe I do – giddy often, LOL… mostly when it comes to seeing friends or family I love. Hugs to everyone who may struggle this time of year for various reasons. It is not lost on me that it is a privilege to enjoy the holidays. Love you all.
Sales, of course, are ramping up again and there are some great finds as always this time of year. Ooo, like my Frye Harness moto boots in a fab dark grey leather. (So good! Use code: DECSAVE.) Ok, and I’ve linked to the Free People version below, but this Amazon option of the pullover pillow quilted puffer looks so awesome. Has anyone tried it? And you can seriously never go wrong with a pretty faux fur throw from Anthropologie, especially at an additional 40% off.
ONE: This Athleta Purpose Crop workout top in this gorgeous navy shine is my new favorite. I wore it to barre3 yesterday and it’s so cute AND supportive. TTS. Wearing the M D/DD. The Rainier tights weren’t right on me, but LOVE the top!
TWO: Still singing the praises of the Easy Street Crop sweater around here and it’s an additional 30% off at Shopbop right now with code EXTRA30. It’s also on sale at Nordstrom in the ivory I’m wearing + some fun colors.

Christmas Day was a blur and I cannot believe it’s over already! I’ve been enjoying my time home with the boys – we made sure to have some activities planned for this time around. Today, we’re headed to a basketball game and I am very excited for the nachos.
Our youngest turns five in a few days and I. Am Unwell. I don’t know what it is with our youngest’s milestones that just make me extra emotional…
Now, onto sales!
Skirt (XL) | Patent Wrap Skirt (10)
ONE: I’ve had my eye on this Free People skirt for quite some time and couldn’t decide which color to get. I finally bought the lilac color and wore it out to our Christmas Eve dinner, and I will also be wearing it for our night out to celebrate my birthday! The skirt definitely runs small, so I sized up one to an XL.
TWO: J.Crew’s collection items always catch my eye whenever new pieces are released… However – the prices often make me pause. This wrap skirt was one item I had on my wishlist and I had been eyeing it for months, patiently waiting for it to go on sale. The red sold out in my size, but I managed to get the navy! It runs true to size

The week leading up to the New Year doesn’t count. Calories don’t count, time means nothing, getting dressed is neither here nor there. I want to drink bizarre amounts of cocoa, watch all the hit tv shows I never make time for during the year, and keep my phone on DND. We balance this all out with evening walks around the neighborhood to take in the holiday lights before they’re taken down. It’s kinda like “airport time” but in your own home. And it’s probably the only time of year I let myself relax (whoops, there’s my new year’s resolution). It’s boring and it’s heaven.
Sales are always fun this week since retailers are dumping the entire years’ catalog on sale. A lot of my fave, glorious, fancy (and worth it) sweaters are on sale (BEST prices I’ve ever seen, and retailers like Bloomingdales & Saks are also marking them on sale). If your goal is to do anything athletic or movement focused for the new year, do not skip this section. If you’re aspiring for the opposite- take advantage of this on sale. YUM.
pants (s, tall), sweatshirt (XL), scarf | jeans (27)
ONE: THE. FREAKING. PANTS. I finally tried them (despite being hesitant of the front seams) and couldn’t love them more. Sporty, stretchy, comfy, incredibly cool. For everyone who lives in leggings but wants to switch it up. Size down, I’m wearing a small but typically a medium.
TWO: These jeans are rarely on sale, and they’ve been an icon for both dressing up + wearing casually (I love when a jean can do both!). Also recommend sizing down!

Happy What Day Is It Anyway! ‘Twas a great week of celebrating at home with family, and now we’re prepping for a couple small getaways before the girls go back to school, including an adults-only ski day and our first trip to Disney with both girls. Honestly, I’m not sure which I’m looking forward to more.
My sale picks this week are admittedly a bit all over the place, but bear with me: this pretty bra reads very romance novel at first blush but gets great reviews as an actual undergarment (jury is out on the matching undies); one of my most-used kitchen appliances everrr is almost 30% off (the Porcelain would be my pick); and I am freaking delighted by the overtly retro vibes of this polo sweater – and it’s almost 80% off, soo…
ONE: My jacket is finally on sale at Saks. No Buy More Save More hook – just actually on sale. It’s been one of the pieces I’ve reached for most this season. The denim and the teddy sherpa lining are both so soft, it wears almost more like a sweatshirt, so it’s super easy to reach for and layer. Wearing a small.
TWO: HOLY JEEBUS my very fancy (and accordingly priced) jeans are $100 off at Neiman’s with code DECSAVE. True to size. I’ve taken every opportunity to wear these the past couple of weeks and have gotten nonstop compliments. They’re drapey, soft, and even cooler when you pair them with decidedly not fancy sweaters and boots. And! The little mother of pearl heart pendant necklace that I layer with my St. Christopher all the time is back in stock and on super sale for under $30. I’ve droned on about it before, but the biggest selling point is that it clasps onto the charm, so you don’t have to worry about the clasp rotating or tangling with others in the back. The weight and color are perfect, too.

Christmas celebrations aren’t quite over for our family until tomorrow. I flew down to see my parents and we are having a big ol’ family reunion tomorrow, with a bunch of family (and their kids now, too). I grew up with my cousins and am so looking forward to meeting their kiddos as well. Now, it’s time to make one hundred cookies, (or, 95, after I eat a bunch of them).
ONE: Madewell Super Wide-Leg Trouser Jeans – My mom got me these Madewell jeans for Christmas and I love them so much (Well done, mom)! They have super wide legs and with the chic front seam + dark wash, they’re the perfect pair of dressy jeans. Use code: LASTCHANCE for an extra 50% off.
TWO: Steve Madden Roland Lug Sole Booties – These are some of my favorite boots in my closet. I’m obsessed with the brown leather version, too, and now that they are on sale for almost 40% off, I am seriously considering them. These are the perfect chunky-sole boots that add serious style to any outfit you wear them with.
