RSV is the abbreviation for Respiratory Syncytial Virus. It is a common virus that causes lung and respiratory infections.

RSV typically begins to spread in the fall and peaks in the winter months.

Most people experience moderate flu-like symptoms and recover within 1 to 2 weeks.

If you have high blood pressure or are taking prescription medications, be sure to talk to your doctor before taking over-the-counter medications.

RSV can worsen underlying lung diseases such as COPD and asthma. People suffering from these conditions may need anti-seizure treatments if they become infected with RSV.
