Dear friends,
The New Moon in Aries takes place on Friday, April 17, 2026 at 7:51 AM Eastern US time, shortly after sunrise. The Sun and Moon will meet up at one of the last (anaretic) degrees of Aries. This is the latest in a long train of late-degree New Moons: previous ones were Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sadge, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. The final degrees of a sign are considered its “signiest” — so expect an extra dose of Cardinal Fire, starting with the Moon’s entrance into Aries on Wednesday morning. It’s a wrapping-it-all-up energy.
The New Moon chart cast for Washington, DC (see below!) has a bundle of planets in the 11th House of human rights and the 12th House of secrets and endings, with Venus and Uranus in Taurus on the Ascendant. It’s a creative, fast-moving, out-of-control (in a good way, probably!) chart.
There’s also a huge Finger of God formed by Pluto and Juno in Aquarius on one side, and the tightly conjunct Neptune, Mercury, Mars, and Saturn on the other, pointing at the South Node of Fate, the Node of releasing, who is currently conjunct the World Point at 7.5 degrees Virgo. Fingers of God are “fated” energies. Watch for weighty choices and dramatic revelations, that require you to step up and work your karmic purpose with fortitude and maturity. Let go of the illusion that unanimity is possible. You are going to have to rock the boat, to jeopardize relationships. If you’ve been living in integrity for a long time, there won’t be many shaky foundations to be crumbled by this shake-up. But the “going along to get along” type stuff is collapsing very quickly.
Ceres parallel Regulus encourages us each to be the king or queen of our own lives, confidently committed to what we’re creating next.
Take another look, too, at the early-Aries planets: Mars and Mercury are besieged (i.e. sandwiched) between Neptune and Saturn. Mars and Saturn are not friends. Mars is in his rulership, while Saturn hates being in Aries, so the bear is being poked. It’s a very stressed-out section of the sky that’s prompting you to make a profound shift in your sense of identity. What are you letting go of, and what are you incorporating in?
