Salon-Worthy Hair at Home | MISSY SUE

Hello! Today I’m so excited to share with you my favorite way to achieve a gorgeous, voluminous blowout right at home using Aimike round brushes. If you’ve been struggling to get that professional salon look or find yourself constantly battling frizz and flat hair, this tutorial is for you! These brushes have seriously been a game-changer in my hair routine and I can’t wait to show you how I use them.

What Makes Aimike Round Brushes Special?

Before we dive into the tutorial, let me tell you why I’m obsessed with these brushes! Aimike round brushes feature nano thermal ceramic ionic technology, which basically means they help seal your hair cuticles while you blow dry, giving you that smooth, shiny finish we all want. The ceramic-coated barrel heats up faster and distributes heat evenly, which cuts down on drying time and protects your hair from heat damage.

Plus, many of their brushes have bristles that help distribute your scalp’s natural oils from root to tip. This keeps your hair naturally moisturized and adds incredible shine! And can we talk about how lightweight they are? No more arm fatigue halfway through styling!

Supplies You’ll Need:

  • Aimike Round Brush (I recommend having 2-3 different sizes for the best results)
    • Smallest size: 1.3″ Barrel, 2.1″ w/ Bristle
    • Medium size: 1.7″ Barrel, 2.5″ w/ Bristle
    • Large size: 2.1″ Barrel, 3″ w/ Bristle
  • Blow dryer with nozzle attachment
  • Heat protectant spray
  • Volumizing mousse or styling product
  • Hair sectioning clips
  • Finishing spray (optional)

Step-by-Step Tutorial

Step 1 / Start with Clean, Damp Hair

After washing and conditioning your hair, gently towel dry to remove excess water. Your hair should be damp but not dripping wet. Pro tip: Let your hair air dry for about 10-15 minutes or until it’s about 70-80% dry before you start with the round brush. This makes the styling process so much faster and easier!

Step 2 / Apply Your Products

This step is crucial for getting long-lasting results! Spray a heat protectant throughout your hair, making sure to coat all sections evenly. Then, if you want extra volume, apply a volumizing mousse at your roots. I love to flip my head upside down and scrunch the product in for maximum lift!

Step 3 / Section Your Hair

Divide your hair into manageable sections using clips. Start by clipping the top half of your hair up and out of the way. Then divide the bottom section into 2-3 smaller sections. Working in sections makes the whole process so much easier and ensures every strand gets properly styled.

Step 4 / Pre-Dry for Volume

Here’s a trick I absolutely love! Before you even pick up your round brush, flip your head upside down and rough dry your roots with just the blow dryer. Move the dryer around focusing on the roots and the back of your head. This creates instant volume and cuts down on your overall drying time.

Step 5 / Start Round Brushing

Now for the main event! Take a small section of hair (no wider than your brush) from the bottom layer. Place your Aimike round brush underneath the section at the roots. With your blow dryer nozzle pointed downward, slowly pull the brush through your hair while following it with the dryer.

The key here is to move slowly and steadily. The ceramic barrel on the Aimike brush heats up nicely, so you don’t need to stay in one spot too long. As you reach the ends, you can either roll the brush under for a bouncy curl or pull straight through for a sleeker look.

Step 6 / Let It Cool

Here’s a secret that makes all the difference: once you’ve dried a section, hold the brush in place at the ends for about 5-10 seconds and let the hair cool on the brush before releasing it. This helps set the style so your blowout lasts much longer!

Step 7 / Work Your Way Up

Continue working through all the sections in the bottom half of your hair, then let down the next layer and repeat. Save the sections around your face for last since these are the most visible and you want to give them extra attention.

Step 8 / Perfect Your Face-Framing Pieces

For the sections around your face, I like to use a smaller Aimike brush and roll them back and away from my face. This creates a really pretty, face-flattering shape. Don’t forget to dry your bangs or fringe area by placing the brush underneath and pulling straight down for a smooth finish.

Step 9 / Finish with a Cool Shot

Once all your hair is dry and styled, flip your head over and blast your roots with the cool setting on your blow dryer. This helps set everything in place and adds even more volume!

Step 10 / Add Finishing Touches

Run your fingers through your hair to soften and blend all the sections together. If you want your style to last, give your hair a light mist of finishing spray, focusing mostly at the roots for hold.

My Favorite Tips & Tricks

Choose the Right Size: The Aimike NaturaVol Round Brush (Sage Green) with the 2.1″ barrel is perfect for shoulder-length to long hair and creates beautiful, bouncy waves. For shorter hair or if you want tighter curls, go with a smaller barrel.

Use the Built-In Section Pin: Many Aimike brushes have a section pin on the end of the handle. This is so handy for separating hair while you work and for removing any loose hairs from the brush when you’re done!

Don’t Skip the Nozzle: Always use your blow dryer’s nozzle attachment. It concentrates the airflow so you can direct heat exactly where you need it, which gives you much better results.

Work in Small Sections: It’s tempting to grab big chunks of hair to speed things up, but smaller sections actually dry faster and look more polished. Keep each section about the same width as your brush.

Clean Your Brush Regularly: The nano ion technology in Aimike brushes helps keep them cleaner, but you should still remove hair from the bristles after each use. This keeps your brush performing at its best!

Final Thoughts

I absolutely love how my hair looks after using my Aimike round brushes! The combination of the ionic technology and bristles gives me so much shine, and I can create volume that lasts all day. Plus, I’ve noticed that my drying time has seriously been cut in half, which means more time for coffee in the morning!

The best part? These brushes are super affordable compared to other professional-quality round brushes, but they perform just as well. Whether you’re a beginner or a blowout pro, you’ll love how easy these make styling your hair.

I hope you loved this tutorial and that it helps you achieve that perfect salon blowout at home! If you try this technique with your Aimike brush, I’d love to hear how it goes. And if you have any other questions or tutorial requests, just let me know in the comments!

Happy styling! ✨
