This Dried Fruit Energy Rolls recipe is an easy, homemade snack that packs a fruity punch and a boost of energy.
By blending fresh mango with Naartjie-flavoured Biogen Cytogen Race Mix, you get a sweet, portable snack that’s perfect for quick fuel during training.
Ingredients
Biogen Cytogen Race Mix contains a blend of moderate and faster-releasing carbohydrates (Isomaltulose, agglomerated maltodextrin, dextrose monohydrate and corn syrup solids), making it an ideal endurance performance solution to help satisfy both immediate energy requirements as well as sustained energy for longer periods of exercise.
Method
- In a blender, combine the mango and Cytogenuntil you have a smooth purée. Line a tray with parchment paper and spread the mixture evenly, creating a thin layer.
- Place the tray in a warm, dry area – or use a dehydrator if you have one – and allow the mixture to dry for about 2-3 hours. You’ll know it’s ready when it feels dry to the touch and peels away easily from the paper.
- Carefully peel the fruit leather off the parchment paper. Roll it up into a tight spiral and slice into smaller rolls.
- Store in an airtight container or individual bags for an energy boost in the gym, on the bike or while out on the road.
