One newer perfume brand I’ve really grown to love is Perfumehead. Perfumehead is a Los Angeles-based brand founded by Daniel Patrick Giles. Each perfume is handcrafted from the world’s finest essential oils, natural extracts, and safe synthetics. The products are rich and concentrated, so they last for a long time… pure luxury! The debut collection is an ode to LA.
Their La La Love fragrance is super sexy and makes me think of someone glamorous (maybe an actress or lounge singer) who drinks whiskey and smokes the occasional cigarette. I love it for a night out. It’s decadent and rich, with notes of vanilla and amber. But for me, it’s more of a special occasion scent than something I can throw on every day.
But 1272 is the perfect everyday scent. Rather than feeling like someone else (which can be fun!), I feel very much myself when I wear this. I packed it for Paris as I love having one dedicated scent that I wear on a trip; that way, it brings back memories when I’m back home. This one combines two of my favorite notes: orange flower and sandalwood. The resulting scent is incredibly wearable and easy. Beautiful, but effortless. It’s a little bit soft, a little bit sweet, with just enough citrus. I really love it.
PS – I like Moon Flower a lot too – it’s another lighter scent with white flowers: jasmine and gardenia.
PPS – This collection of samples is a great way to try them all.
