Happy Almost Thanksgiving!

I love sweater dresses. I live in upstate New York, so I only mean the ones that actually keep you warm, not the ones with no sleeves, very deep V-necks, cutouts, and so on. In particular, I love knee-length styles with a crew neck and a belt, like this affordable sweater dress from Caslon.

I prefer rust (a perfect fall color!) to black, although the styling certainly doesn’t do the first picture any favors – a multicolored fluffy zip-up jacket?! I like the chunky knit that isn’t too structured. The belt is removable, but since the belt loops aren’t there, that’s kind of a moot point (or a moot point if you’re a Friends fan).

Yes, the dress has only received a 3.5 out of 5.0 stars so far, but what negatively impacts it is the one-star review complaining that the dress arrived wrinkled. And what’s more, it’s machine washable.

This dress is $69 at Nordstrom and is available in sizes XXS-XXL.

Are you looking for other sizes? Here’s a plus size option from Arula and a maternity sweater dress from Gap.

And now let’s look at something beautiful – this (much more expensive) sweater dress from Isabel Marant. Look at it. I’ve never seen a cable pattern like this before and I think it’s eye-catching and beautiful. This dress costs $1,650 at Nordstrom.
