In the beloved Disney Channel series Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus‘s character, also named Miley, was living a double life as a regular-girl brunette and a blonde pop icon. When she put on that honey-blonde wig, Miley Stewart became Hannah Montana, super-famous singer. After the show ended in 2011, Cyrus tried to put distance between herself and her onscreen alter ego, including eventually chopping off her hair and bleaching it platinum blonde, but she just revived Hannah once more—with a very 2026, current-Miley spin.
Cyrus attended the Palm Springs International Film Festival looking like an updated version of the titular Disney pop star—if Hannah quit the pop world and went rock ‘n roll, anyway. Her hair, which is currently a very Hannah-esque shade of warm golden blonde, was styled in loose, long waves by Bobby Eliot. But it wasn’t just the blonde color that was giving late-2000s Disney pop princess—it was Cyrus’s new bangs, which may just be an ode to Miley-slash-Hannah’s beyond iconic blonde wig.
Instead of the straight-across bangs she wore with the Hannah Montana wig, however, Cyrus opted for long curtain bangs that fell past her brows, nearly grazing her eyelashes and blending right into her wavy, beachy-cool layers. The fringe falls somewhere on the bang spectrum between a classic thick curtain style à la those worn by Sabrina Carpenter and the trendy wispy bang, but I’d go ahead and say they’re the Goldilocks of bangs: not too long, not too short, not too thick or thin, but juuuuust right.

The fringe may be a hint at what’s to come from Cyrus this year. Hannah Montana is celebrating its twentieth anniversary (!!), and as she teased to Variety, she’s “working hard” on something to honor the show. “You see the bangs,” she hinted with a smile. Yes, we absolutely do!
