Kroma Wellness Review. – The Stripe


I’ve talked about Kroma quite a bit on Instagram and enough people have asked me for my thoughts on their reset + products that I thought I’d write a little review. The TLDR is that the reset is a great way to reset healthy eating habits; but more importantly, I love their products. Today, I’m sharing my thoughts on the reset plus 4 of their products that I always keep on hand.

Kroma Wellness Review

An overview of Kroma’s 5-day reset

Kroma’s 5-day reset comes in the prettiest box . . . a rainbow of pouches. It also includes a handy frother, which you will need to mix each “meal.” I put “meals” in quotation marks as they are quite small. You’ll have eight throughout the day but they are more like snacks or drinks! A day of Kroma looks something like this:

Morning:

  • Morning Beauty Matcha (I really love this. But I also have coffee)
  • Porridge (This is very yummy, and you can add berries)
  • Cranberry Hydration Elixir (This is an electrolyte drink. I like that it is a little bit spicy.)

Mid-Morning

  • Plant-based protein (I love the cinnamon vanilla) that you can blend into a smoothie with coconut milk and ice.

Lunch

  • Broth (definitely add protein + veggies to this)
  • Supergreens Elixir (This is absolutely awful, it reminds me of Athletic Greens. YUCK. I just make it quickly and CHUG. Gross.)

Afternoon

  • A yummy latte. I did not care for the spicy passion latte (too spicy), but I love the turmeric one.

Dinner

  • Broth (again, definitely add protein + veggies to this!)
  • A pre-bedtime magnesium drink. (I love this, reminds me a lot of my beloved Moon Juice Magnesi-om).

My Experience doing the Kroma 5-day Reset

I decided to try the 5-day reset after several girlfriends raved about it. They mentioned benefits like sleeping better, not craving junk, having more energy . . . I was intrigued! This was maybe a year ago. I wasn’t eating healthy, had tons of cravings for junk food/processed stuff, and never felt full (no matter how much I ate!). A reset sounded great, so I ordered it. Honestly? It was really hard. I had bad headaches for most of the week and I felt bored by the food. I didn’t even finish all of the packets some days. I felt moody and irritable. But when it was over, I felt amazing. I was sleeping so well, my cravings had subsided, it was great.

I did the reset again a month or two ago (what is time!?) and made some modifications. First, I allowed myself one black coffee in the morning. This made such a difference for me. Much fewer headaches. And I really loaded the broths with chicken and veggies, making them feel more like meals. These two modifications made the reset MUCH more manageable, and I still had all of those great benefits when it was over.

How I felt afterward / Kroma results

Like I said, I felt really good afterward. I don’t have a scale, but my clothing felt (a little) looser. But this truly is not about weight loss; it’s about resetting to healthier habits. If you were to do this and then just go back to regular habits, you wouldn’t see a lot of results as the weight loss is going to be mostly water weight. For me, it’s about resetting habits and cravings. After 5 days of Kroma, I didn’t crave sugar or salty foods. I slept so much better, and my appetite wasn’t out of control. It’s a true reset!

While the reset is a nice thing to do a couple of times a year, I actually discovered a handful of products I genuinely LOVE and crave! I’ve ordered each of the below items multiple times now. They’ve all become pantry staples — I need to have them!

Super Porridge

I go through bags and bags of this porridge; I love it so much. I have found it hard to find protein-packed breakfasts that I like and aren’t eggs/don’t require cooking. This porridge is really yummy and it’s filling. I eat it cold with water . . . but I add a big handful of raspberries.

Beauty Matcha Latte

This matcha is absolutely delicious. I mix one scoop with 6 oz. hot water and then I use coconut milk that I froth with my coffee machine. Like I said above, I still have my morning coffee but I love having this as my second caffeinated beverage. It has so many good for you ingredients: collagen, turmeric, ginger, etc.

24K Chicken Broth

I am obsessed with this chicken broth. To make it, just add 2.5 scoops to 8-10 oz. hot water, sip, and enjoy. I probably have one (sometimes two!) every day. It’s super yummy (thanks to a little miso), high in protein (12 grams!) and filling. And it includes collagen (so good for your skin, hair, and nails) and turmeric. The flavor is amazing. I have one whenever I want a little snack. I also love the packets for when I am on the go . . . they are perfect on the plane. I should mention that I really like the ramen as lunch (I’ll eat a salad too), which uses the broth as a base.

Vanilla Cinnamon Plant-Based Protein

This is the best plant-based protein ever. I put it in all of my smoothies and am so happy to have found it as my old favorite (Bloom) no longer makes plant-based protein and my stomach does better with plant-based vs. whey. The vanilla cinnamon flavor is delicious. I like to do 8 oz. coconut milk + 1/2 frozen banana + a handful of ice + this. I am not kidding when I tell you . . . it’s DELICIOUS!
