Jenna Lyons Wants Plastic Surgery Judging to Stop

In the cultural zeitgeist and larger discourse surrounding plastic surgery and cosmetic treatments, opinions are always swirling surrounding who has done what. It seems everybody has their opinion on what’s “right” and “wrong” in the world of aesthetic treatments. Leave it to Jenna Lyons to calm the waters. The RHONY cast member and beauty guru shared her candid, refreshing take on cosmetic surgery in a recent interview with PEOPLE.

Jenna Lyons Wants Everyone to Stop Judging People for Getting Plastic Surgery

As far as the pop culture icons of today go, I and countless others see businesswoman and current RHONY star, Jenna Lyons, as a voice of reason. Her recent interview with PEOPLE, where she spilled her thoughts on aging and plastic surgery, proved her yet again to be the judge-free person we know and love. “We’re all so goddamn judgmental,” Lyons told the outlet when asked about society’s view on cosmetic treatments and plastic surgery. “Whatever works for you. I think people need to do what makes sense for them and what feels good for them. I think it’s a really personal choice.”

Never one to sugarcoat, Lyons also got candid about her struggles with self-image. “I have to take a really careful look at myself when I’m on TV — and I do pay attention,” she told PEOPLE. “I remember the first season I did the show. I was really hard on myself about the way I looked, and I was comparing myself to women who were 20 years younger than me. They’re all much younger than me. The second season I had gotten so much positive feedback from people — particularly people who were like, ‘I love that you’re letting your grays show.‘” For Lyons, embracing her aging beauty is key, but that doesn’t mean it’s easy. What’s her personal take on cosmetic treatments? “Sign me up!” However, she admits that fillers scare her, preferring to opt for a more wellness-centric approach to beauty and self-care.
