Five years ago, Megan Pietersen could not find a clean and honest way to support her health. So she built one. Now your small company Noa & Co is changing quiet women with a simple, clean, ethically experienced nutritional supplement that actually work. Ready to set up your well -being? Prepare to transform your entire routine.
The nice thing about this time and age when the internet slowly shrinks the world into a global village is that the inspiration to shape us with everything we want to be is only a click away. For the former marketer Megan Pietersen, this meant countless hours of research, conversations with experts and a relentless search for ethically related ingredients -everything to create a premium spectrum of wellness nutritional supplements.
Five years later, Noa & Co has more than earned its strips with a high return in South Africa and now immerses his toes in Great Britain and Dubai markets. The brand has provided its promise of nutrition and continues to use great reviews.
Now Megan finally pulls the curtain back to what was really going behind the scenes. “Hardly anyone knows that my husband was the inspiration for NOA & Co.
NOA & COS clean supplementary inspiration
The story of NOA & Co started with the fact that Megan wanted to support her professional rugby player -Hemann JP -former winger and full -back for the Sharks and jumping boks. “I met my husband when I was only 19 years old. At that time he already played professional rugby. As a young, I was of course so many women to support him. Then I discovered my deep passion for health, well-being and nutrition,” the 37-year-old reflects.
When Megan could play the crucial role in JP’s performance in JP’s performance, she immersed it in research and discovered knowledge that was not easily accessible to ordinary consumers. “I was also lucky enough to have access to incredible doctors and nutritionists. I asked endless questions and developed as much as possible,” she recalls. JP was her flavor driver and always endeavored to try Megan’s research that inspired her to whip in her kitchen.
When the newly committed couple moved to Japan in 2013, Megan was introduced to a whole new world of eastern wellness. “JP played for the Springboks, a Japanese club and the sharks. It was a crazy time and his body was under immense pressure,” she recalls.
In professional sports, athletes can be tested with dope at any time and the checks are usually carried out unannounced. Tester, says Megan, sometimes appear on the doorstep of the Pietersenses – also on Sundays! “That meant that I had to be extremely careful with what I fed JP. The purchase of a supplementary from the shelf was not an option. The risk was too high. Even an apparently harmless over-the-alta could be identified as a stimulated stimulant and cost it everything.
Megan’s wellness marker
Wellness tip: “At least four times a week I switch out somewhere for an hour, no matter how busy things get. This hour is my therapy. No smartwatch, no notifications, no messages about orders or problems I upload and entered my long-term health.”
Wellness tip: “For breakfast I will prepare something like Chia Pudding so that it is ready to add the NOA & CO vanilla powder in the morning. Meal preparation is one of the small things that keep the chaos under control.”
How eastern wellness changed the vision of NOA & CO
In Japan, Megan continued to collect clean, natural products from the eastern wellness world – ingredients such as Maca and collagen. Collagen in particular was a big turning point, she says enthusiastically. “I had only heard of collagen in skin care as something that they used topically. And I had always seen myself as a wellness girl, so I was shocked that I didn’t know much about it as a supplement. Collagen was not a novelty in Japan. It was part of her daily long-term maintenance.
Megan was also impressed by how the eastern cultures are less subject to the food groups confirmed by the West, such as dairy products, but prioritized on other natural, functional ingredients. “This exposure has completely shifted as I thought about nutrition and planted the seed for what would finally grow into NOA & Co..”
Creating clean nutritional supplements for women
After almost four years in Japan, the Pietersens moved to France, where they first became their daughter Maia. Here Megan dipped into the European wellness scene and was first-handed how advanced other countries were compared to South Africa, which was still back in 2016.
From a product perspective, Megan discovered a blatant gap on the market – intelligent, clean additions to complement a nutritious diet. “I couldn’t find anything organic that was free of evil and artificial flavorants,” she recalls. She trusted her intuition, and with the encouragement of her husband she began to experiment with her own formulations. “It was in France where I really dreamed of creating something that was inspired by Japan. But I didn’t want to adapt the culture. I wanted a subtle allusion to a country that I deeply admired without making the entire brand Japanese,” she explains.
The pregnancy time in France caused Megan to think about wellness beyond the world of sport. “The focus is on performance, but I wanted to create products that would help every family member to do their best and work at their peak every day,” she explains.
In Japanese, the name NOA means “love”, a word that Megan perfectly captured the heart and soul of the brand that she wanted to build. Next found a credible manufacturer on her to-do list. “I just wanted to use organic ingredients and make everything in a correct facility,” she says. However, it was not an easy task to find a South African manufacturer who is able to produce probiotics and priority quality of medical additions. “At first I thought it would be impossible. But through the grace of God I managed to find the best supplier through a friend of a friend. It was accidental how everything came together.”
“We are not the type of brand that only publish new products for reasons of will. Everything in our range is real and as close as possible.”
The trip took about two years of strict tests, with friends flying powder and rehearsing to France. From refining the formulations to the design of the packaging, every detail was meticulously. Megan even outlined branding itself, led by the clear vision that she for Noa & Co.
When the family returned to South Africa in 2019, Megan was expecting her second child, while Noa & Co took a quiet shape in the background. “I had this bee in my bonnet to get this brand on the way. I already had the packaging, and after two years of strict tests I finally had two products ready. So long it took just two. To create something that tastes half decent without relying on the taste of the synthesis, I buy tomorrow.
The inspiring growth history of NOA & Co.
Noa & Co was officially opened in March 2020, shortly before Covid-19 turned the world upside down. The very first product was the Noa & Co Collagen Creamer, who was partly inspired by the career of JP and Megan’s own trip as a new mother, navigated the postpartum hair loss and the many other changes that go through women. The second was the NOA and Co -Vanilla -Ringing powder. “We are the only protein supplement in South Africa that is organic and has no oil,” says Megan proudly.
At first Megan accepted the business, the business would be a child’s play hier and there was a few orders while she was a practical mother. She even had the time to act thank you notes to accompany every order. And then Covid beat. “The business suddenly boomed,” says Megan, giggling when it remembers the resulting chaos. “Orders flew in and everywhere in my house there was. In the meantime I had a baby on my hip and a toddler. I only had a small amount and hadn’t expected it to be removed as much as possible. At this point I probably had 99% of my savings with the savings.
Being a solo preneaer can be a lonely journey, but Megan had an ace her sleeve – the power of the community. She collected her family in particularly busy times. “I would call my sister and say: ‘Right, we pack orders on Sunday. We’ll have a Braai, I’ll feed you!'”
Nursing support: Postpartal solution for mothers
Every NOA & CO product has a story behind it, but Megan has a weakness for the NOA & Co -Still supplement supplement. It was inspired by Megan’s personal experience when her milk supply gently rejuvenated about six months after breastfeeding her second daughter Aria. “If you don’t sleep, feed a baby through the night and try to keep up with packaging and sending orders, everything adds up,” she says. In order to paint a living picture of how exhausted it was during this time, Megan laughs when she remembers customers – on two separate occasions – to report that they had found dummies in their orders!
“Every NOA & CO product comes from a personal place – from a need or problem that I experienced myself and which I wanted to solve.”
Megan describes the supplement of breastfeeding support as a global first-one two-in-one supplement for breastfeeding mothers, which combines a hydration solution with gala dyks (substances that increase breast milk supply by stimulating the hormone prolactine). “It is filled with the safest herbs together with first-class electrolyte salt that perfectly meet the global hydration standards. I was lucky enough to work with an incredible team of experts, pharmacists, chemical engineers and one of the leading lactation specialists in South Africa,” says Megan.
“Together with the input of so many amazing women, we have brought this product to life. It is by far the most rewarding product for me. Mothers often turn to things like: ‘I just went back to work, my care disappears, but their product helped me.’ I once met a mother at Pilates who told me that her gynals had recommended the NOA & Co tribute support.
With an established series of Premium products and a growing fan base, Noa & Co has put a very long way in just five short years. But Megan is not yet ready to dream. Your next ambition is to position the brand that she has built as a pioneer in South Africa’s wellness room – especially the health of women. It is obvious that she has the determination and peat power to do it. And we are there for it!
