Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County will mark its 40th anniversary milestone during fall 2025 with a community-wide effort called “Yesterday, Today, Forever” to honor the past, celebrate the present, and build a lasting legacy. The celebration will include a special Raise the Roof campaign and an October gala event.
At the heart of Raise the Roof is the construction of a commemorative 40th Anniversary Home, built in partnership with a local Forsyth County family. The project will bring together volunteers, donors, and community partners to make affordable homeownership a reality.
The Raise the Roof campaign aims to generate $40,000 through a series of signature events, including Stud Signing Saturdays at its Habitat ReStore locations — 608 Coliseum Drive Northwest, 2551 Peters Creek Parkway in Winston-Salem and 819 South Main Street in Kernersville. The next Stud Signing event will take place on Saturday, September 13, from noon to 2 p.m. When donating to the Raise the Roof campaign, supporters can sign a stud that will forever be part of the family’s home.
Online contributions to the Raise the Roof campaign can be made at habitatforsyth.org/RaisetheRoof.
In addition, Habitat for Humanity will host a “Yesterday, Today, Forever 40th Anniversary Gala” on Thursday, October 2 from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Millennium Center in downtown Winston-Salem. Tickets are $100 per person or $750 for a table of eight and include cocktails, dinner, and dancing with EnVision Band as well as inspiring stories from homeowners and volunteers whose lives have been touched and transformed by Habitat’s mission.
Register for the gala online at habitatforsyth.org/GalaTickets.
“Over the past 40 years, Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County has built nearly 450 safe, affordable, and energy-efficient homes,” said CEO George Redd. “We’re deeply grateful to the volunteers and donors who helped make this possible. Still, we recognize that many families in our community continue to need safe, stable housing. That’s why we’re especially excited to celebrate this milestone with the entire community and invite everyone to support our Raise the Roof campaign and attend our October gala.”
