For the Latest in Engagement Rings, Consider Brown

Ever since I found out that Gen Zers seem to be gravitating toward brown center stones in their engagement rings (this according to the 2025 Pinterest wedding trends report), I can’t stop thinking about how much I enjoy the idea.

Brown has been gaining speed since last fall, a departure from summer’s bright colors and a little taste of the quiet luxury left behind after Succession wrapped its final season. Throw in a nod from Pantone as the 2025 Color of the Year, and all shades of brown—not just the chocolate tones of Pantone’s Mocha Mousse—have dominated the fashion scene. It’s really good to see it.

Brown isn’t revolutionary by any means—brown gemstones, including diamonds, have long been admired by many jewelry consumers—but their return to greater popularity feels wonderful and well overdue, giving attention to an array of gorgeous engagement ring offerings.

The proof is in the (chocolate) pudding below. Here are some of the newest engagement rings with brown center stones.
