An option that makes headlines these days is vaginal estrog therapy. A growing group of research has shown that vaginal estrogen creams and tablets are safe for most people – even people with breast cancer history.

This is because local vaginal estrogen only influences the vaginal area – not the entire body such as a systemic menopause hormone therapy, which is also safe for most people, but may not be recommended for the risk of certain health states such as breast cancer.
Finally, the vaginal estrogen made headlines when an expert group asked the FDA to remove the Black Box warning against vaginal estrogen products. The experts found that outdated research is cited in the warning, which is not about vaginal preparations.

- Fill the applicator with the prescribed amount of cream
- Lie your knees up to your chest on your back
- Put the applicator into your vagina and press the piston to leave the cream free
- Clean the reusable applicator with soap and water
- If you can, put cream before you go to sleep to prevent the cream from falling out
Vaginal ring
- Engagement: Rings are inserted into the vagina and removed after three months. After the three months, a new ring can be required after the three months depending on the treatment plan.
- How to use:
- Wash hands and dry
- Stand up on an object with one leg or lie down – whatever works best for you
- Keep the ring between the thumb and index finger and press it together to take eight
- Keep the skin open with your other hand around your vagina
