Lazy Day Hairstyle #1: Donut Bun
The ultimate lazy day hairstyle is the messy bun — but sometimes a messy bun just doesn’t look polished enough. Enter the donut bun. Created with a hair donut, this style takes seconds but gives you a cleaner, more elevated look. Pick up a hair donut at any accessory store or somewhere like Forever 21.
-
1
Gather your hair into a high ponytail.
-
2
Thread the ponytail through the donut, then slide the donut towards the end of your ponytail, leaving about 3 inches loose.
-
3
Tuck the ends of your hair around the donut and into the donut hole. Try to cover as much of the foam donut as possible — it doesn’t need to be perfect yet.
-
4
Hold the outside of the donut firm with your thumbs, and use your fingers to rotate the donut and flip it inside out. This catches more of your ponytail into the bun.
-
5
Keep flipping the donut until you reach your head. Adjust the bun and tuck any stray hairs as you go.

Lazy Day Hairstyle #2: Hairband
Using a hairband may seem simple and obvious, but a lot of people forget to keep this accessory on hand! It’s a quick way to add a polished touch to loose hair with zero effort.
Lazy Day Hairstyle #3: Low Messy Bun
There’s something about a low bun that gives off an effortlessly chic vibe. This one takes only seconds but looks great paired with a blazer and simple earrings.
-
1
Gather your hair into a low ponytail, but only loop your hair tie around halfway — two or three loops — so it ends up in a loose, messy bun shape.
-
2
Pull a few pieces from the top of your head to create volume at the back and loosen the bun slightly. You want it to look effortless but intentional.
-
3
Pull out a few pieces at the front to frame your face.
Want a boho variation? Try putting only half your hair up into the messy bun — here’s a tutorial. If your bun needs more oomph, clip-in bun extensions give you the perfect volume without any teasing or hairspray.
Lazy Day Hairstyle #4: High Ponytail with Hair Extensions
If you’re feeling just a little adventurous, adding a few wefts from your Luxy Hair extensions takes a normal high ponytail to a thicker, longer version in under two minutes.
-
1
Separate your hair above your ears into a crown section.
-
2
Take a 2-clip weft and clip it in at the crown upside down. This is key for high ponytails — it keeps the weft smooth and hidden.
-
3
Take a 3-clip weft and clip it in upside down, right below the 2-clip weft, to ensure the ends of your ponytail are thick and full.
-
4
Add any additional 1-clip or 2-clip wefts along the sides as desired.
-
5
Flip all your hair over and gather into a high ponytail. Want to switch up the texture? Try clip-in curly ponytail extensions for extra glamour.
