Bright Stripes – The Stripe

Bright Stripes – The Stripe

I love stripes, especially if they are big, bold, and bright. They are happy and fun, and put a little pep in my step, especially this time of year, when I become a complete and utter color monster. My favorite way to wear stripes right now is to mix and match a little bit. In the outfit above, I paired a striped tee with a sweater of a different stripe over my shoulders. You could also tie the sweater around your waist. I laugh because I can’t seem to find a way to tie a sweater around my waist and not look incredibly frumpy, but it looks so great on others. I thought that Bradley hit it out of the park in this post!

You could do something similar by pairing a striped top with a bag in a different stripe. Or, of course, a sweet sundress with a sweater or long-sleeve tee tied at the waist (or around your shoulders). I think the result is really cute and unexpected. Not every color combo is going to be a winner, but it’s pretty hard to mess this one up. Just have fun with it . . . this one is about experimenting!

Also, I never thought I’d wear these green Le Monde Beryl satin flats as much as I do. They are kind of like the Loeffler mesh flats: They go with nothing, so they actually go with everything. They are sold out (I got mine a couple of years ago), but I like this new pair from Madewell just as much!

My Sophie Gardner goldfish is my latest fine jewelry purchase. Doesn’t she look great with my Sherman-Field locket? The gold ring is from BaubleBar. I reach for this one constantly; such a gem.
