BODi blocks and Super BODi blocks – Is anyone else confused? I definitely am. But after taking some time to dig into all the new Beachbody jargon, I think I’ve found a quick and dirty answer, and that’s what I’ll focus on in this blog post.
Specifically, I’ll explain what a BODi block is, why it’s different, and why you might (or might not) want to buy one.
Um, what exactly is a BODi block?
Before we dive into the differences between BODi blocks and Super BODi blocks, let’s first take a look at what BODi blocks actually are.
BODi Blocks are a series of training programs designed to help you achieve your fitness goals sustainably and effectively. You may be wondering: aren’t all Beachbody programs designed to do this? Well yes, but blocks differ in that they are shorter and more inclusive. Here’s what I mean…
Each BODi block includes five training sessions per week for three weeks, followed by a week of UP (which stands for “Unconditional Progress”). This is basically a recovery week where your workouts get easier so your body can integrate and repair all the work it just did.
There are currently four BODi Block fitness plans available on BODi, which are free and accessible to anyone with a BODi membership. These include the following…
All-BODi block
The All-BODi Block is an innovative blend of strength training, cardio, core and mobility exercises to help you get in the best shape of your life.
Bicycle block
The Bike Block is a fun, balanced and results-oriented mix of cycling and strength training.
Iron block
The Iron Block is a traditional weightlifting program paired with state-of-the-art split training to help you optimize your muscle gain while increasing your calorie burn.
Super block for beginners only
The For Beginners Only Superblock is a great starting point for anyone new to fitness or looking to get back into it after a break.
Okay, so what is a Super BODi block?
A Super BODi block has the same structure as a normal BODi block, but there is a cost involved. Super Blocks are also new content based on Beachbody’s best-selling programs and designed specifically for this new format.
The main difference between Super BODi blocks and BODi blocks?
As far as I know, the main difference between a BODi block and a Super BODi block is that the Super blocks are new material, while the regular (free) blocks are just curated workouts, which are already available on BODi on Demand.
How much do BODi superblocks cost?
BODi Super Blocks are $29 (35 CAD, 29 GBP, 35 EUR) for each individual program. However, it is important to note this You need a BODi membership to purchase one. BODi memberships cost $179 per year and I without question think it’s worth the price (for the membership).
If you are a new customer, when you purchase the BODi Starter Pack you will receive a free BODi block which includes the annual membership, Shakeology, a nutrition tracker and food portion containers. Further information about the Starter Bundle can be found here.
So are Super BODi blocks worth it?
That depends on you. If you’re someone who thrives on the structure of a planned workout and there’s a trainer you can’t get enough of, then yes, buying a Super Block makes sense.
Personally, I have always loved Barre Blend. I’m a huge fan of barre workouts and have always had great results with them. Elise Joan is probably one of the best barre teachers ever. So would I spend $29 on a remix of this program? Absolutely.
In fact, she just launched the Barre Blend Super Block, and you can access the free sample workout here. Again, their Superblock is $29, so I think it’s worth it. But honestly I don’t think I would buy the others.
The conclusion about BODi blocks
I think if you’re someone who likes the structure of a training program and likes something that’s short and concise, then BODi Blocks are a no-brainer. In my opinion, Super Blocks are only worth it if you want the latest and greatest from your favorite trainers and programs.
With that in mind, I’m curious – would you buy a Super BODi block?
