Teia Burroughs: Coach Stormy Wellington, you have built a multimillion-dollar empire, but your message is consistently centered around transformation from within. What did you have to heal from or unlearn internally before your external success story could really take off?
Coach Stormy Wellington: It all came down to the story I was telling myself. I had to understand that life is shaped by perspective and that, at any given moment, I could choose to be the victim or the victor. Once I realized that, I became much more intentional about my mindset, my discipline, and what I allowed myself to believe.
TB: For the woman who has heard the worst about herself for years, whether from childhood, relationships, or her own inner voice, how does she begin to overcome that?
CSW: She has to find what helps her heal and grow. For some women that may be therapy, for others it may be faith, community, a transformational event, or simply the right tools and resources. There is no one-size-fits-all answer. You have to find your medicine and commit to it unapologetically.
TB: You mentioned environment and also the importance of experiences like The Awakening. How important are the people around you when you are trying to elevate and move into a new season of life?
CSW: Environment matters deeply. You do become like the people you spend your time around. But even when someone cannot immediately change their surroundings, they can begin by changing what they hold in their mind. You have to create the vision internally before you can build it externally.
TB: In an industry that often prioritizes appearance, how do you personally define beauty from the inside out? What does that look like for a high-performing woman like yourself?
CSW: Beauty starts with how you feel in your own skin. When you feel good, you show up differently. It is not about fitting one standard. It is about knowing what makes you feel confident, aligned, and at peace with yourself, then honoring that.
TB: You have created millionaires and helped shift entire family legacies. What are some non-negotiable habits or mindset shifts every woman must adopt if she wants to change her financial trajectory?
CSW: First, she needs a vision. She has to know what she truly wants her life to look and feel like. Then she has to think for herself, speak carefully, pray, ask for help when needed, and believe. Those things sound simple, but they are foundational. Everything changes when a woman becomes intentional about her thoughts, words, faith, and direction.
TB: As someone who carries the responsibility of so many people’s growth and success, how do you protect your own mental peace while operating at such a high level?
CSW: Standards and boundaries. I protect my peace by being clear about what aligns with the life I want and what does not. When I move outside of my standards, I feel it. So I have learned to be disciplined about what I allow into my space, my schedule, and my energy.
TB: This is Hype Hair, so we have to talk about hair. Your hair is always polished and flawless. How does your hair play a role in your confidence as a personal brand, and what does crown care mean to you beyond style?
CSW: Hair carries energy, and for me it is deeply connected to how I feel. I wear glueless wigs, and underneath them I keep my head shaved. It is a personal choice, but it feels cleansing and intentional for me. Hair is not just about style. It is also about presence, presentation, and the energy you carry.
TB: When women hear your story, they see success. But what do you want them to feel and believe about themselves when they encounter Coach Stormy Wellington?
CSW: I want them to feel love. I want them to leave inspired. More than anything, I want women to know that if I could become the woman I am today, they can become who they are meant to be too. I want people to leave me feeling seen, encouraged, and stronger than they were before.

CSW: The Awakening Experience just took place in Miami, and it continues to be a space for women who are ready for a real shift in their lives.
