[unpaid/sample/affiliate/ad] I’m so late to the party with the daily SPF tint from Korean brand, Beauty of Joseon. When I started researching Japanese and Korean beauty products basically when the internet went world wide and I realised, thrillingly, that I could see beauty from around the globe that I’d never had the slightest clue about before, I really didn’t think it would take 15 years for the products to arrive here. But some of the viral Asian brands aren’t even 15 years old – they’re more like five minutes old, built for a TikTok world that didn’t exist even five years ago. Even though it feels like a heritage brand (by design), Beauty of Joseon is eight years old so it really hit exactly the right time to emerge at the cusp of global interest.
My first impressions of the Daily Tinted Fluid Sunscreen are positive – I got the right shade for my skin (MP200) and although I’ve missed the summer, now feels exactly the right time for this product when the light is a little lower and SPF50 perhaps isn’t as needed as it is when the sun is high. In application, it has slightly oily feel to it – the fluid is nicely thin but you need more than you think for all over coverage. As this is an SPF product, more is good. On Instagram I suggested if you want belt and braces, apply an SPF50 underneath but personally I wouldn’t because I don’t like to pile products up on my face. Coverage is excellent – more than your average tint so it sits somewhere between foundation and tint but it’s not a traceless feel – it’s always going to feel a bit present on your skin which makes me think it wouldn’t be advisable to wear your white polo neck while wearing this!
The sheen that you see in the swatch dampens down but it’s not by any means a matte product and it allows for skin flexibility. It’s easy to blend but I think I was too hasty in thinking I’d fully blended so just to be sure, go over again with a brush or your fingers to make sure that it’s smoothed out on your complexion.
If you need a day to day coverage that contains SPF, Beauty of Joseon Daily Tinted Fluid Sunscreen has the benefit of modern technology. Beauty of Joseon SPF has been certified by two different labs – one in Spain and one in Korea – which is benchmark for reliability according to Lab Muffin. Sephora has it on offer for £14.95 HERE at the moment which makes it an affordable skin tint, even without the SPF element. Up to you entirely whether you want to use pure SPF underneath it – it could be a question of looking up the UV index in the morning and making the decision that way. Either way, I like it as much as I hoped I would with the caveat that to perfect it, it would feel more traceless on the skin.
