AD ZIIP Halo 2.0 Review : A Device For All Skin Types

Before you say a single word – be assured that if you have the original ZIIP Halo, you are in a very safe place. The ZIIP Halo upgrade is for the hoverers – those who have been wavering about whether or not to take the plunge – and for the serial upgraders who want the newest iPhone or the upgraded software. Personally, I wish that iPhone never had any updates because it was FINE! I hate changing my phone and wait until the buttons are practically dangling off before taking the plunge – and I’ll mention that we are about to get a new TV which I know I’ll probably never even be able to switch on unassisted.

However, if you’re not as change resistant as me (and, if you’re a regular reader, you’ll know that the ZIIP Halo, and now the 2.0, is the one gadget I won’t be parted from under any circumstances). When I heard news of the ZIIP Halo 2.0, an upgraded version of ZIIP Halo with tweaks and improvements, many of which are user feedback driven, I was hesitant because I’m already so pleased with the results I get from my original device. However, after understanding the reasons for the changes, I’ve come to the conclusion that I like a brand that listens to their customers and acts accordingly.

Firstly, ZIIP Halo 2.0 comes with three 30ml conductive gels with skin actives to give some extra oomph to your skin workout. The silicone plug has been improved to stop gel getting into the device (something that honestly has never happened to me) and there’s a travel pouch. Most importantly though, the waveform tweaks make for more accuracy (63%) on the ZIIP 2.0 so in theory the results will be superior to the original ZIIP Halo. I’ve used both – obviously I am devoted to my original ZIIP Halo and eyed the 2.0 with great suspicion as an interloper and an upstart, but it would make absolute sense if you were on the fence about whether to take the plunge to opt for the ZIIP Halo 2.0.

In use, you don’t really feel any difference, but I did like the option of choosing which gel to use on any given occasion and I’m happy to see the Silver Gel in there because that’s my favourite. If you’ve never used a ZIIP Halo before, it’s a skin caring device that is made so easily usable by routines set via the app. You can pick your routines (anything from a 4 Minute Facial to a longer, more intensive Collagen Boost) and follow a visual step-by-step guide that can be anywhere between 2 minutes or 12 minutes, depending upon what time you have available. Eventually, you remember the routines (the short ones anyway) and with a little buzz to nudge you to the next step, it’s just so simple and non-intrusive.

I’m now a long time user of the ZIIP Halo so know it inside and out – I use it more as an in-the-moment boost before going out or when I know I need to be extra glowy for an event. I also pick it up more often during winter (which seems to have aged me tenfold – a combination of being a slug and the horrible February light that curses everyone). I favour the Instant Face Lift routine which is an absolute perk up or the 2 minute Plump routine for bringing a bit of life back into my face with a glow that defies the time of year.

ZIIP Halo 2.0 is a considered purchase at £379 (I have a 10% discount code – use JANEZIIP) so if you have any questions, feel free to ask away. It’s HERE.
