As a long-time wellness author who came to many wellness trends, I saw a lot of self-care apps. From all-in-one life organizers to weight loss trackers to meditation apps, I tried an above-average amount. This is probably because I have ADHD and anxiety, which makes the handling tasks and the processing of emotions very difficult for me.
Self-care apps are actually amazing: Even simple, like a journal app or those that help you to fall asleep faster, are very useful because these small habits (good sleep hygiene and regular magazines) can achieve enormous payments in your mental health. In my experience, these apps helped me to come back to the center in times of overlaps, to make life easier and either do not get them to buy the paid package or to deliver a really great offer at a good price (or free of charge!).
For meditation: Insight Timer
Insight Timer app
Price: FREE; premium From R1 095
My therapist asked me to try meditation for years, and I finally integrated two years ago and have used this app since then. It is also one of the few apps in this world that almost never blocks their interaction with a paid Paywall Wall-Wall. It is clear that this app actually serves to improve mental health for everyone.
With every check-in, a mindful quote is presented, followed by an invitation to note what they are grateful for and determine an intention. Contents include meditations for tomorrow, noon and evenings as well as for self -esteem, regulation of the nervous system and much more. It also has a built-in sleeping timer, so that they drifted without blue light.
Premium prayer Courses on meditation, internal child labor, compassion and more. In addition, the offline listening and better audio quality.

It’s here. It’s finally here. After years of wishful thinking, you can now take a photo of your meal and let AI follow the calories. I love this app for several reasons. First of all, I don’t have to sit like an accountant three times a day and calculate the weight and calories. Second, it takes away my focus. Instead of feeding myself, every food photo feeds my pet washbar pesto. (You can call him what you want.) He comments on every meal, and no matter what I feed him, he still says, he loves me. Bless.
Tracker can specify your calorie intake or your remaining information, or you can change the modes so that you are only based on a color -rated score that is based on the diet and is perfect for a less number -oriented approach.
Premium prayer A tracker for macros, statistics of your habits and personalized nutrition tips. You can also know how to improve any meal.
To work through emotions: Wysa
Wysa app
Price: FREE, premium From R125 per month
Working through difficult emotions is difficult if you do not have the tools. It doesn’t cut deep breathing and your therapist is not exactly a call away.
Wysa is a AI that can work through your feelings by asking guiding questions to help you clarify your feelings and underlying topics and create an action plan to get you through. There is the possibility to pay a digital therapist (people!), But the jumping point of the app for me is that I do not have to pay for therapy fees. There are a few guidelines for mental health aspects, e.g. B. energy, better self -esteem and more.
Premium prayer Exercises to build trust, improve productivity and more.

Poqualizing app

This app helps me a ton as a person with ADHD. You can list up to five tasks per day, and each is color coded. You can also define the frequency of habits, since everything does not have to be done every day. You can even add some super basic tasks, e.g. B. Brushing showers and teeth to start your day with a dopamine thrust and create the impulse to do the rest of your tasks. I continued to use this app until I no longer had to cross the things and you had to download it again if I need it.
Premium prayer Findings based on your habits, a calendar overview and additional slots to add more than five tasks.
For fear and depression: Stoic.

This app is like a guided magazine, which is less about raving about her swarm and rather about healing. Includes breathing exercises, meditation, quotes and confirmations. It is a simple, monotonous app without frills, so it feels as if they have space to breathe. Each entry can also be guided with countless tasks that promote a deeper examination of your psyche.
Premium prayer Daily requests, guided magazines and all exercises were activated. Premium + AI contains AI to analyze your entries and custom input requests based on your focus.
For mindful movement: Downdog
Downdog Yoga app
Price: FREE, premium From R183 per month
This is one of the few apps for which I actually paid. It is my favorite -Yoga app and you have published partner apps for Pilates, HIIT and more. There is always a river that meets your needs: Cardio Flow with tons of Chaturangas, strength streams that combine yoga with strength training to and flows for bedtime and meditation. There are also traditional rivers: Hatha, Yin, Nidra, Vinyasa and Ashtanga. A big, big plus: the music! I use the Alt -Beats setting and love to get to a song in my own playlist.
Premium prayer Adaptable workouts by concentrating on different fitness areas such as flexibility, buttocks or nuclear power or armbands.

For mindful movement: Nike Run Club
Nike Running Club app
Price: FREE
Yes, I see this special app in the self-care apps category as large. As someone who runs for emotional publication, the led runs and the general approach of the app are very welcome. I followed the first start plan, which contains the guided runs for every foray. It is really nice to have an encouraging trainer in my ear who is the only goal of helping me to run, no PBS, no technical obsessions, just being loved from outside. And OBVS, the headspace runs are gold. Many thanks to Nike for never asked to pay for it and still have a good -looking app. Very cool.
For journaling: day one
Tag One Journal app
Price: FREE; premium From R53 per month
I am sure that everyone has heard of this app, similar to NRC and Downdog. What do I love It is interactive: Add photos of a place in the app (there is an integrated card) and enables you to benefit from your laptop or telephone from the diary (this function is in the paid membership). What is great is that every fresh entry has a request for reflection. Some examples: “What is a new moment that I want to remember?”; “How does different days differ today?”; “What is a belief that I questioned?”
premium Unlimited photos and videos, time-saving functions and journal adjustments.

I added a game because the mini eloquence is as important as mindfulness. Self-suffering is also about improving yourself, and Lila, which was created by the Belgian game developer Bart Bonte, is a stunning game that forces you to think about the side, diagonally, in a zigzag and in any other way. I can’t say much, unless there is nothing like another puzzle game you will play. Cognitive decline: beat it. (It turns out that he made several other games: yellow, red, black, blue, green and pink.)
