I thought it would be fun to start the week with a bit of inspiration. This is what the inside of my brain looks like right now. The things I’m pinning are a color combination I’m excited about, a beautiful ad campaign, and a couple of photos that stopped me in my tracks. Let me know what you think, maybe we’ll make it a regular thing!
This TWP Look
To be clear, I’d never actually step outside of the house in this outfit. But when I saw this image (on Jess Graves’ Substack), it stopped me in my tracks. There are so many individual details I really love about this look. The long red cord on the hat (you could attach red paracord to a hat you already own) that feels like jewelry. The way that the t-shirt peeks out perfectly from under the sweater? Excellent. And then that coat itself is just gorgeous. I’ll skip the boxers and the rainboots but take everything else.
Fall Outfit Ideas!
I have been pinning up a storm, thinking about fall outfits (especially as I prepare for a trip to Paris at the beginning of October). It’s an interesting exercise to see what your eye naturally gravitates toward. I find that most of these looks feel fresh and fun, but incorporate pieces I already have. A few things I want to try this fall:
- Incorporating silk scarves and bandanas into my outfits. I have so many, including a few special pieces that my great aunt passed down to me. I want to wear them! I love how they look as a bit of detail – under a button-down, over a jacket, tied in your hair.
- Wear my new Sezane suede jacket with a white tee, cream jeans, and black loafers. Simple and chic.
- Layer a navy sweater over a chambray button-down. Add a gold earring.

Everything About This Outfit (and Photo!)
This photo is from SIMONMILLER’s latest collection (aptly titled The Conversation Pit), and I just love it so much. The fringe, the gold, the layering, the pose. It’s perfect. I don’t know if I could pull off a dress over pants (I have wide hips; might get bulky), but this outfit is so chic. I love a sunken living room too. There’s a bit more on the site and a video, but I bet the whole house is fantastic. I’m also very curious who shot this campaign (and what sort of camera and film they used).
This Brunello Cucinelli Ad
I was paging through the most recent print edition of The Cut, and this ad stopped me in my tracks. We’ve seen a lot of high fashion brands get literary this year, and I love it. This campaign sparks a lot of joy for me. It’s also beautiful. The blog post is worth a read too; I didn’t realize that Cucinelli was such a reader.
This Color Combination
This image immediately stopped my scroll. The most obvious reason was that I had purchased some of East Fork’s new malachite pottery. I really love their pieces. They are special, substantial, and beautiful. The brand launched malachite and sepia together, so the brown and green were nothing new. But the coral? That feels really fresh to me. It makes me think about setting my own table, but also outfit planning. A pair of brown pants, a coral sweater, and a pop of forest green? Or even my Hart necklace, layered over a coral sweater. Beautiful, and unexpected.
