#1: The Twisted Fishtail Braid

Tip: Clip your extensions in vertically instead of horizontally to avoid the wefts showing when you pull your hair back for the braid.

  • 1

Take sections of hair from both sides of your face and secure them at the back with a small clear elastic, creating a mini ponytail.

  • 2

Take the mini ponytail and flip it through the middle, creating a pretty twist.

  • 3

Grab two sections of hair a bit lower than your twist and repeat the last two steps to create another twist.

  • 4

Create a fishtail braid with the end pieces of your twist ponytail and secure with another elastic.

#2: The Half Braid

  • 1

Take the whole top section of your hair and secure in place with a clear elastic.

  • 2

Optional: Pull out a few wispy pieces near the front of your face for a more effortless look.

  • 3

Cover the elastic by taking a small piece of hair from the ponytail, wrapping it around the elastic, and securing with a bobby pin.

  • 4

With the remaining hair, create a regular three-strand braid.

  • 5

Secure with another elastic, then wrap a small piece of hair around it to cover and secure with a bobby pin.

#3: The Fake Side Braid

  • 1

    Create a side parting.

  • 2

Optional: Add your two-clip wefts on the side with more hair for longer strands to work with.

  • 3

Take two sections of hair, secure with a clear elastic, then flip the tail up through the middle and pull through.
  • 4

Just underneath, take two more sections of hair, secure with an elastic, and flip and pull through again.

  • 5

Repeat all the way down, or stop near the ear like Elanna does for a cleaner finish.

#4: The Side Dutch Braid

  • 1

    Create a side part.

  • 2

Optional: Flip your two-clip wefts in to create an extra-thick one-clip weft for added dimension in the braid.

  • 3

Create a Dutch braid that frames the front of your face, working all the way down.

  • 4

    Secure with a clear elastic.

  • 5

Tug on the sides of the braid gently and fluff it out for a fuller look.

  • 6

Tuck the end of the braid underneath the back of your head and secure with a couple of bobby pins.

#5: Dutch Bun Braid

  • 1

    Create a side part.

  • 2

Optional: Flip your two-clip wefts in for extra braid dimension.

  • 3

Create a Dutch braid that frames the front of your face, working all the way down.

  • 4

Secure with a clear elastic, then tug the sides to fluff it out.

  • 5

Gather the rest of your hair on the same side as the Dutch braid.

  • 6

Create a big, messy bun and secure with a hair elastic.

  • 7

Wrap the Dutch braid around the elastic to hide it and secure with bobby pins.

#6: French Twist

  • 1

Starting on the right side, take two pieces of hair and twist them together.

  • 2

Moving towards the back of your head, gather another piece of hair and twist it in.
  • 3

Secure in place with a bobby pin.

  • 4

Repeat steps 2 and 3 on the left side.

#7: Twist and Braid

  • 1

    Create a side part.

  • 2

Take the top section of the bigger side and twist it tightly all the way down to the top of your ear. Secure in place with a couple of bobby pins.

  • 3

With the top section of the remaining hair, create a small 3-strand braid halfway down and secure with an elastic alongside the rest of your hair.

  • 4

Optional: Leave the hairstyle here for a polished ponytail look.

  • 5

Or take the ponytail and create a three-strand braid all the way down with your remaining hair and secure with an elastic.

#8: The Classic French Braid

  • 1

Take some hair at the top and separate it into three equal sections: left, middle, and right.

  • 2

Take the left section, cross it over the middle, and combine it with the right section.

  • 3

Take the right section, cross it over the middle, and combine it with the left section.

  • 4

Continue this pattern — adding more hair from each side as you cross over the middle — all the way down. Grab a mirror to check the back from time to time.

  • 5

Once you reach the nape of your neck, bring your hair to one side and finish with a three-strand braid.

  • 6

Optional: Wrap a small piece of hair from the tail around your hair tie for a clean finish, and secure with a bobby pin.

#9: The Double Dutch Braid

  • 1

Separate your hair into two equal parts — right and left.

  • 2

Clip your 1-clip and 2-clip wefts throughout each side.

  • 3

Starting on one side, separate a section at the very top into three equal strands.

  • 4

Begin Dutch braiding (crossing the outer pieces under the middle piece) and collect more hair as you work all the way down.

  • 5

    Secure with a hair tie.

  • 6

    Repeat on the opposite side.

  • 7

For a fuller, more textured look, gently tug the sides of each braid to loosen it.
