Before joining Amazon, Marc Whitten was Chief Product Officer at Sonos, where he introduced Trueplay technology, which allows the connected speaker to adjust to the size of your room. Whitten was also present at the launch of the first generation Sonos Play: 5 speaker. Whitten previously worked at Microsoft for more than a decade, helping launch three generations of Xbox consoles.
Whitten has now moved to the video game company Unity Technologies. Unity CEO John Riccitiello announced his arrival to the shareholders, describing the former Amazon executive as “an incredible leader in the world of technology and entertainment”.
Fire TV saw a slew of successes over the past year – not just hitting the milestone of 50 million monthly active users, but also completely redesigning the Fire TV experience (which is still to be expected on some devices) and introducing new streaming -Services on the platform, such as NOW TV.
