We’ve been expecting Amanda Gorman to get the cover of a major fashion shine since reading her amazing poem at Joe Biden’s inauguration in January. Leave it to Anna Wintour to find the 23-year-old poet and activist for Vogue. Amanda debuts on two adorable covers in May 2021 and receives full Vogue treatment from photographer Annie Leibovitz and stylist Gabriella Karefa-Johnson. For the first cover (below), Amanda wears a look from Louis Vuitton’s Fall 2021 menswear collection and looks ethereal in a Christian Dior top number for the second cover (after the jump).
The covers sparked a debate on our forums. “I really love this one. I love how apologetic the first cover is. The second cover, however, is the best! The best cover I’ve seen on Vogue in months! This second cover is the epitome of US Vogue, ”applauded MON.
“The second cover is such a winning attempt at doing a full body shot. So effortlessly beautiful … In addition, the colors are easier on the eyes and calmer than the first, ”admired Benn98.

THD96 is also a fan: “Both covers are breathtaking. I love the first cover so elegant and regal. She looks like a queen. The green text goes so well with the dress. When Annie delivers, she just delivers. “
“Anna has really recovered from the lackluster April issue. Annie was definitely the right choice here, I love both covers, ”enthused 1018.
“Beautiful blankets. Amanda takes beautiful photos, ”Mepps explained.
“That is unexpectedly good. I generally expect something like this to never be that good, but everything from the photographer to the styling to Amanda herself came together, ”said SLFC.
