My hair has reached this uncomfortable intermediate length lately: it’s no longer the medium length lob I went to the barber for last year, but it can’t quite be called a long hairstyle just yet. Instead, it sits on my shoulders in a pretty uninspiring way so I’m seriously considering hacking it. I’ve experimented with shorter hairstyles over the years but never ventured into a full bob.
However, with my Instagram feed filling up with dramatic post-lockdown haircuts, I have to admit that I’m seriously tempted to forego my lengths in favor of something shorter, choppier, and infinitely cooler. And a quick look online confirmed that the bob may just be the 2021 hairstyle. From Fearne Cotton to Lily James, so many celebrities have gone through major short hair transformations in the last year, and their styles look really amazing.
